APR.Intern is a national scheme that places PhD candidates into short-term (three- to five-month), tightly-focused research projects. Host organisations approach APR.Intern for assistance in engaging PhD candidates to work on pre-determined research projects.

Candidates participating in an APR.Intern internship will receive a stipend of $3,000 per month for the duration of the internship. If you are already receiving a Griffith RTP or GUPRS/GUIAPRS scholarship you may continue to receive your living allowance scholarship (providing there is sufficient scholarship tenure remaining) and the APR.Intern stipend will be awarded as a ‘top-up’ scholarship (scholarship recipients should consult their scholarship conditions of award for more information). Additionally, you may be eligible to apply for an extension to your living allowance stipend, proportionate to the duration of your internship.

In addition to meeting the below eligibility requirements, individual APR Internship opportunities may have additional eligibility criteria. You will find these listed in project advertisements on the APR.Intern website.
