Enrol in Training

To self-enrol in Learning@Griffith Online training courses:

  • Log into Learning@Griffith (on Griffith Portal)
  • You are now in the new CANVAS dashboard - at this point staff training is still located in the old Blackboard platform
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the dashboard to find and click on the "Access previous Blackboard Courses and Organisations" button (this moves you back into Blackboard)
  • Click on the Organisation tab (top middle of the screen menu options)
  • In the Organisation search box on the left, type all or part of the Organsations's name (eg search Workplace Health and Safety for the Annual Fire Training or SBS Inclusion Program) and click Go
  • When your search results appear, you will see that each Organisation has an Organisation ID beside it (eg OTS). Hover your mouse cursor over the appropriate ID until you see a small menu icon (an arrow) appear.
  • Click the small arrow, which will open a menu. then click the word Enrol.
  • Click the submit button and this organisation will now appear in your Organsations Tab.

To enrol in Face-to-Face Training:

  • Log into the Staff Portal and select "My Staff Page" from Key Services.
  • Once the home screen appears, select "Training and Online Resources" > "Face2Face Training".
  • Select "Search by Course Number" and insert the Course Code of the course you wish to attend.
  • View Available Sessions and Choose the session number that reflects the date or campus you wish to attend
  • If a course is currently full it will show 0 seats available. You will be automatically waitlisted for the course when you enrol.

To view your Training records:

  • Log into the Staff Portal and select "My Staff Page" from Key Services.
  • Once the home screen appears, select "Training and Online Resources" > "My training summary".
  • This screen will display: Course Code, Course Name, Course start and end dates and Course Status (enrolled, completed, waitlisted, cancelled, no show). By clicking on these titles, you can filter the training (ascending /descending).

Need to cancel your enrolment?

If you can no longer attend a course, please provide notice to the training administrator as soon as possible. If you have received an Outlook calendar invitation, change your response from "Accept" to "Decline" and send the response. Your place will be offered to another staff member and your training records will reflect you've cancelled this course.

Approval to attend courses

There is an expectation that all staff who enrol in training and development workshops through the "My Staff Page" have discussed and sought approval from their supervisors.

Course confirmation

Confirmation advice will be forwarded to staff who have enrolled in courses. If the course is full, you will be automatically wait-listed, and this will reflect in your Training Summary under Course Status.

Staff who are enrolled will also receive an Outlook calendar invitation confirming their enrolment and detailing course specifics, When you receive this meeting invitation, select "Accept" and send the response if you are still available to attend. If you "Decline", this will enable us to offer the place to staff who are waitlisted.

Your training summary

You can check the status of any training requests via the "Staff Portal" > "My Staff Page" > "Training and Online Resources" > "My Training Summary".
