Disability Inclusion Workshops

Griffith is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible environment for all. The University has engaged the Australian Disability Network to deliver disability confidence training to equip our people with an understanding of disability and its relevance to all areas of the organisation.

Program overview

The Disability Inclusion Workshop will cover:

  • the importance of disability confidence for individuals and the whole organisation
  • what disability is in the Australian society
  • the value of inclusive language, behaviour and environments
  • awareness of workplace adjustments
  • where to find further information and assistance

The workshop is for Griffith University staff. It is hosted online and facilitated by the Australian Disability Network.

Course Offerings

Disability Inclusion Workshop dates for 2024:

  • Tuesday 12 March 2024, 10.00 - 11.00 am
  • Tuesday 23 July 2024, 2.00 - 3.00 pm
  • Tuesday 03 September 2024, 10.00 - 11.00 am

These sessions are held online via Microsoft Teams. Webinar

How to Enrol

Register for the workshop through the Staff Portal.

  • Log into the Staff Portal and select "My Staff Page" from Key Services.
  • The Home Screen will appear. Select "Training and Online Resources" > "Face2Face Training".
  • Select "Search by Course Number" and insert:
    • Course Code: 600016 for the Disability Inclusion Workshops or
  • View Available Sessions and choose the available session.

Once you have enrolled in your chosen session, you will receive a placeholder from staffdevelopment@griffith.edu.au. Closer to the workshop date, you will also receive a separate calendar invitation from Australian Disability Network with a Microsoft Teams link to join the workshop.
