Provided below are links to useful tools based on common client queries received by the Workplace Solutions Team:

Marketing & Communications, Newsletters & Events

The Office of Marketing and Communications studio develops a range of marketing and communications materials that are consistent with the Griffith brand.  They offer creative consultation to help you find the most appropriate way to communicate your message and work with the group marketing manager to develop your material.  If you are looking at advertising, contact your marketing manager to discuss your options. Visit the Griffith identity page on the OMC website to find brand guidelines, logos and templates.

For Information Services staff, marketing and communication queries can be directed to the INS Communications team who are responsible for coordinating and delivering the Division’s communication and marketing requirements.

The approved event management tool for staff and external participants is Cvent.  Tasks managed through Cvent include e-invitations, e-newsletters, membership management and conference management. Training, support and accounts for the system are coordinated through the Office of Protocol. The University has considered federal and state data security and privacy legislation when releasing Cvent.

The systems for student e-interaction are PeopleSoft and RightNow. MyGriffith is used to send tailored communications to specific groups of students.

Surveys

Survey Services assists Teaching & Learning by supporting survey activities across the university. When you are reaching out to more than 200 staff or students or across more than one administrative element (School) the policy on Surveying of Griffith Students and Staff comes into play and an Application to Conduct a Survey will need to be submitted.

Current University supported tools to create online surveys include Lime Survey (Research survey tool managed by The Research Survey Centre) and Google Forms.

jPoll is also an online mobile polling solution for staff and students. Instructors present multiple-choice questions (verbally or with presentation software) in class, students answer the questions on their device and the system instantly collects and tabulates the results, which instructors can view, save, and (if they wish) display for the entire class to see.

Videoconferencing, Online Meetings and Phones

The Collaboration webpage is a good starting point in choosing the appropriate technology for your videoconference meeting. There are several options for conducting videoconferences at the University.  Staff have access to Basic Video Conferencing Meeting Rooms and the Advanced Video Conferencing Collaboration Rooms; can conduct online meetings from their computer using WebEx; use video phones for conferencing; and Jabber to join these meetings or simply to answer their desk phone from any device.
