Elected positions on University committees

The October round for staff elections will commence soon.

The Returning Officer hereby gives notice of the intention to conduct an election for staff membership on various committees set out below.

COMMITTEE POSITIONS IN THIS ELECTION ROUND

Staff Elections

Committee	Elected Position	Term date
Academic Committee	Six members of the academic staff of the University to be elected by members of the academic staff of the University at least one of whom shall be from each of the Arts, Education and Law Group, Griffith Health, and Griffith Sciences. Nominations may also be received from the Griffith Business School and academic staff not within the four Academic Groups. NOTE: The split of Group members is across the total twelve elected academic staff on Academic Committee, five of whom were elected in the September 2025 Election Round, and one other who was elected in the April 2026 Election Round.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
Academic Committee	One First Peoples staff member of the University to be elected by First Peoples staff of the University.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028

Board of Graduate Research	One member of the academic staff of the University to be elected by members of the academic staff of the University.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
Internationalisation Advisory Committee	One member of the academic staff of the University to be elected by members of the academic staff of the University.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
Learning & Teaching Committee	One member of the academic staff of the University to be elected by members of the academic staff of the University.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
AEL Group Board	One member of the AEL continuing academic staff to be elected by members of the academic staff on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
GBS Group Board	One member of the GBS continuing academic staff to be elected by members of the academic staff on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
Health Group Board	One member of the HTH continuing academic staff to be elected by members of the academic staff on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028
Sciences Group Board	One member of the SCG continuing academic staff to be elected by members of the academic staff on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 31/12/2028

Nomination forms will be made available here when nominations open at 9am Mon 31 August 2026.

Persons wishing to stand for nomination must be listed on the electoral roll for the position and submit a completed nomination form.

Persons nominated for a position (unless declared elected unopposed) will be elected by the persons on the electoral roll for the position.
