Elected positions on University committees

The October round for student elections will commence soon.

The Returning Officer hereby gives notice of the intention to conduct an election to fill the following positions on University committees.

NOMINATIONS OPEN 9AM NOM 31 AUGUST 2026

COMMITTEE POSITIONS IN THE APRIL ELECTION ROUND

Student Elections

Committee	Elected Positions	Term of Office
Academic Committee	One coursework postgraduate student of the University who is on the postgraduate students roll to be elected by members of that roll, to fill a vacancy.	Date elected up to and including 31/12/2026
	One higher degree by research candidate of the University who is on the higher degree by research student roll, elected by members of that roll.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
	One coursework postgraduate student of the University who is on the postgraduate students roll to be elected by members of that roll.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
	Four undergraduate students who are on the undergraduate students roll to be elected by members of the undergraduate students roll of the University. One member shall be from each of the Arts, Education and Law Group, Griffith Business School,Griffith Health, and Griffith Sciences.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027

AEL Group Board	One HDR Candidate of the University enrolled in a HDR program directly identified with the Group, elected by the HDR Candidates on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
AEL Group Board	One coursework student [undergraduate or postgraduate] of the University enrolled in a program delivered by the AEL Group, to be elected by the coursework students on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027

GBS Group Board	One HDR Candidate of the University enrolled in a HDR program directly identified with the Group, elected by the HDR Candidates on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted, to fill a vacancy.	Date elected up to and including 31/12/2026
	One HDR Candidate of the University enrolled in a HDR program directly identified with the Group, elected by the HDR Candidates on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
	One coursework student [undergraduate or postgraduate] of the University enrolled in a program delivered by the GBS Group, to be elected by the coursework students on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
Health Group Board	One HDR Candidate of the University enrolled in a HDR program directly identified with the Group, elected by the HDR Candidates on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
Health Group Board	One coursework student [undergraduate or postgraduate] of the University enrolled in a program delivered by the Health Group, to be elected by the coursework students on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027

Sciences Group Board	One HDR Candidate of the University enrolled in a HDR program directly identified with the Group, elected by the HDR Candidates on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027
Sciences Group Board	One coursework student [undergraduate or postgraduate] of the University enrolled in a program delivered by the Sciences Group, to be elected by the coursework students on the electoral roll for the Group at the time the election process is conducted.	01/01/2027 up to and including 31/12/2027

Nomination forms will be made available here when nominations open at 9am Mon 31 August 2026.

Persons wishing to stand for nomination must be listed on the electoral roll and submit a completed nomination form.

Persons nominated for a position (unless elected unopposed) will be elected by the persons on the electoral roll for the position.

All elected University Council and University committee student members are expected to adhere to the Griffith University Code of Conduct and the Student Conduct, Safety and Wellbeing Policy.
