Target system applications
All lists must have a purpose and be sent to at least one external application to be used. These applications are known as target systems. The list management system supports two types of target systems:
- email communications
- access control (such as file access)
List applications
Some lists may require initial configuration before they become active in a target system—example: lists sent to Active Directory and Sign-on tree.
Should this be the case, the list management system will automatically generate a request on your behalf when your list is created. The target system administrator will then contact you to discuss any additional configuration requirements.
You can currently create lists for the following applications listed in the table.
* Manually populate email lists should be created in Google Groups interface, not list management system.
To take advantage of the lists you have created you must have access to the target systems you send the list to.
