![]() Dr Samid SulimanI am currently Director, International for AEL and Senior Lecturer in HLSS. Over my 10 years at Griffith, I have nurtured excellent relationships with academic and professional colleagues across the university, through teaching, research and service. During this time, I have participated extensively in university governance, and am currently in my third year as an elected member of Academic Committee. In this role, I prioritise core principles of accountably, fairness, transparency, and justice. At this critical time for the university sector, I will bring this wealth of experience and strong ethical framework to Academic Committee if re-elected. |

Associate Professor Popi SotiriadouAs an international expert in Sport Management, I am committed to advancing Griffith’s reputation for excellence in teaching, research, and student success. I have led nationally and internationally recognised initiatives in inclusive education, assessment innovation, and community engagement. My leadership includes pioneering Interactive Oral assessments adopted globally, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, and promoting equity and accessibility in higher education. I have served on university committees, editorial boards, and global research networks, bringing strategic insight and collaborative problem-solving. I seek election to represent colleagues’ interests and strengthen Griffith’s academic governance and future direction. |
Associate Professor Amanda DalyI have served as the Griffith Business School representative on Academic Committee since 2024. During this time, I’ve actively contributed to university-wide discussions, including through the English Language Requirements Working Group. My current role as Academic Director of EmpowerED University Preparation enables collaboration across all areas of the university to widen participation and support student success. Continuing on Academic Committee would allow me to further champion values-driven, people-focused decision-making aligned with Griffith’s strategic priorities. |

![]() Dr Kelly ShoecraftKelly is an Applied Linguist and an award-winning Academic in the Centre for Collaborative Educational Excellence (CCEE). Her experience teaching in HLSS, her collaborative leadership and her focus on inclusive education is applied to supporting staff’s engagement in meaningful professional development for their educational practice. With a deep commitment to social justice, inclusion and Indigenous flourishing, Kelly is a strategic thinker who connects people to achieve educational outcomes that align with Griffith’s strategic plan. Kelly’s experience and passion for education, her insights from a centralised perspective and her effective communication skills will be an asset to the Academic Committee. |

Professor Hang TaI am an ARC Future Fellow and Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow leading a dynamic team of 12 PhD students and postdocs in the development of novel (bio)materials for biomedical applications. I have secured over $7 million in competitive funding (>$5 million as CIA), and published in high-impact journals such as Nature Protocols, Circulation Research, Advanced Science, Biomaterials and Journal of Controlled Release. I serve on the ARC College of Experts (2022–2026), editorial boards, conference committees, and grant review panels nationally and internationally, contributing to advancing research excellence and supporting the broader scientific community. |
Professor Ivan Diaz-RaineyI am a leading international expert in climate and sustainable finance, with broad research leadership skills, including strategic vision and researcher community-building capabilities. At the University of Otago, I was Co-Director of the highly interdisciplinary Otago Energy Research Centre, and I established one of the largest and most interdisciplinary sustainable finance groups in the world. I have secured more than AUD $8 million in research- and training-related funding, and I have successfully commercialised my research. I currently lead the interdisciplinary STRAND project on climate bank stress testing, funded by the Royal Society of New Zealand and MBIE Smart Ideas grants. |

Associate Professor Stacy TzoumakisI would like to serve as the elected staff member on the AEL Promotions Committee, offering an external staff perspective to the process. I bring extensive committee experience across multiple levels at Griffith and previously at UNSW Sydney. Since joining the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJ) at Griffith in 2019, I have successfully progressed through the promotion process to Level D (2024). I currently serve as the NTEU Representative on the Griffith Business School Promotions Committee. I am Co-Convener the CCJ HDR Program. I am also an elected staff member of Academic Committee (2024-2025). |
Associate Professor Robert MasonI seek election to AEL's Promotions Committee as a colleague known for fair judgement and the collegial support of others. Over ten years at Griffith, I have progressed from Level B to D and served as Program Director, HDR Convenor and Deputy Head (Learning & Teaching); I now serve as Deputy Head (Research) in the School of HLSS. This breadth of experience gives me a grounded understanding of both teaching and research contributions, and colleagues’ varied career pathways. I have contributed to multiple University- and Group-level committees during my career, and would bring this experience and integrity to promotions deliberations. |

Professor Ian HallI have more then twenty years experience working in universities in Australia and overseas. I have served in various research- and education focused roles, including acting and deputy director of the Griffith Asia Institute, associate dean and deputy school director (education) at ANU, and program director at Griffith, ANU, and Adelaide. These experiences have involved working with academic staff across a wide range of disciplines and fields, mentoring and development, and promotion recommendations and reviews. In these roles, I have sought to demonstrate commitments to fairness and equity, as well as developing the capacity of fellow scholars and teachers. |

Professor Shirui PanI am a Professor, ARC Future Fellow, and internationally recognised researcher in artificial intelligence. With extensive academic experience, I have served on grant review panels, editorial boards, as an academic promotion referee, and on international conference committees, providing balanced and rigorous assessment of research excellence. At Griffith, I have contributed to teaching, supervision, and academic leadership, mentoring colleagues and students. I am committed to fairness, transparency, and supporting academic career progression. As a member of the Promotion Committee, I will bring an informed, collegial, and constructive perspective to evaluating applications for promotion. |
Associate Professor Erwin OhMy name is Erwin Oh and I am an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering and Built Environment. My journey with Griffith University began 18 years ago when I first joined as a Lecturer. With eight years of leadership role as the Director International for Sciences, I have developed an understanding of each segment of the university. Being a committee member is a great way to make Griffith University a better place to work for us all. For these reasons, I like to be considered for the Committee Member for Sciences Group Promotions Committee. |
