The International Student Barometer (ISB) is a global study of international student experiences, which is coordinated as a partnership between the Communications and Surveys team, Griffith International and i-Graduate. Consistent participation by international students from Griffith, as well as hundreds of other institutions across the globe, allows Griffith to benchmark responses against participating universities from around the world.

Survey Components

International students are asked to share experiences from pre-arrival (decision making and expectation building) through to post-arrival (reconciling expectations to reality).

The ISB reviews this feedback and highlights national and global issues at play with higher education experiences of international students.

Survey Administration

All currently enrolled international students are invited to participate in the ISB . The Communications and Surveys team can answer any questions about participation or the ISB survey processes.

The annual survey gauges decision making and attitudes pertaining to the period before arriving at the host institution, the on-going experiences post-arrival, and the resulting word-of-mouth marketing that occurs from this cohort to potential future international students.

Survey Incentives

All respondents go into a draw to win:

  • AU$1,000 cash prize
  • 1 x Go Pro HERO6, and
  • 4 x AU$100 Coles/Myer Gift Vouchers!

Survey Results

The ISB results are presented to executives across the University each year and influence the development of initiatives that support international students.
