Engagement as Consultant is the document developed and approved for use in circumstances where the University is engaging third parties to provide us with consultancy services (except for the procurement of information technology services which should be handled through GITC documentation).
Engaging a consultant is a formal procurement process which is subject to the University’s Financial Management Practice Manual (PDF 75k) and the Queensland Procurement Policy and should be initiated and managed through the Office of Finance.
Who Can Sign?
The Authority to Sign Contracts and Agreements specifies those University Officers who are authorised to sign this document on behalf of the University.
Generally consultancy engagements will need to be passed through the Office of Finance Tender Services to be signed by the Vice President (Corporate Services). In some circumstances the Procurement Group may need to forward these agreements to Legal Services to review and negotiate amendments.
Please note you are required to complete the name of the other party and provide its Australian Business Number which can be located using the ABN Lookup. Remember that a business name, trading name or trust is not a legal entity. In circumstances where a trust is involved, the appropriate legal entity to contact with is the trustee of the trust.
