Self help for Google Apps
Only Griffith active students and current staff have access to Google Apps for Education. This includes Drive ( Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and Drawings), Sites and Groups.
We recommend using Microsoft apps for all new documents, however access to existing Google Drive documents and apps (excluding email, calendar, contacts and hangouts) will continue until further notice.
Support will continue via self-help resources.
Please note: Griffith alumni do not have access to Google Drive. Please refer to Email for Alumni for more information about your Griffith alumni email account.
ABOUT GOOGLE DRIVE
Google Drive allows you to easily store your photos, documents, slides, drawings, sheets or videos. Your files in Drive can be reached from any mobile device or computer. So wherever you go, your files go. You can quickly invite others to view, download and collaborate.
With My Drive, all files and folders are owned by the person who creates them. So if this person leaves the University and their account is cancelled, their files and folders are no longer available.
Google Docs, Sheets and Slides
Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are productivity apps that let you create different kinds of online documents, work on them in real time with other people, and store them in your Google Drive online.
DOWNLOAD DATA FROM YOUR GRIFFITH GOOGLE ACCOUNT
(Student accounts only)
You can create an archive of your Griffith Google account. This allows you to download your data from the Google products you use, such as email, calendar, bookmarks and drive. In a few easy steps, create an archive to keep for your records or use the data in another service.
Depending on the amount of data, creating an archive usually completes within several hours. However, for larger amounts of data this may take up to 24 hours.
Please note: Griffith University does not support Google Take Out. For additional assistance see Google Account Help: Download your data.
