HDR Orientation Program
The HDR Orientation program is a two part workshop series consisting of the Welcome & Induction workshop and the Responsible Research workshop along with an optional networking lunch. The program will introduce you to Griffith’s research culture and provide valuable information on support services and responsible research practices.

What you need to know about orientation
It is compulsory for all HDR candidates to complete this on campus Orientation within the first 6 months of candidature.
To have your attendance recorded you will need to be present for the entirety of the workshop(s) that you are attending. For compliance reasons, those who arrive late and/or leave early will be required to attend the workshop again at a later date.
In addition to the centralised HDR Orientation program you may also be invited to a discipline specific orientation session hosted by your academic school or element. If your school or element has a discipline specific program you will be contacted via email within the first month of your candidature. In this case you should attend both orientation sessions.
|I am enrolled on another campus, do I have to come to Nathan or the Gold Coast?||Yes. Orientation is held at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses as they are the most central campuses with the largest HDR Cohorts.|
|I am an international / remote candidate, do I have to attend in person?||Yes. Orientation is your introduction to the Griffith research culture and community. This experience can’t be replicated in an online environment.|
|Is my attendance formally recorded?||Yes. Your attendance will be formally recorded in the Griffith portal within two weeks of the Orientation program. You can check your record at myGriffith>My research> My candidate centre> Additional requirements info. |
