Select the maintenance type of the profile you wish to edit from the pull down menu and click the select button select icon

Assessment types

Adding assessment types - non-examinable

When configuring these items ensure that you select the correct due date method from the pull down menu as you will be presented with a different list of fields to complete. For example, a centrally administered end of trimester examination will have fields to enter for perusal and duration but does not include a field for due dates whilst an essay will have.

  1. Click the select button select icon
  2. Select the add icon edit icon
  3. Enter the assessment type code.
  4. Enter the title details.
  5. Select specify due date from the due date method pull down menu.
  6. Check required tick boxes ie: submission guidelines and active.
  7. Select the save button save icon

Adding assessment types - exam

  1. Click the select button select icon
  2. Select the add icon edit icon
  3. Enter the assessment type code.
  4. Enter the title details.
  5. Select exam period from the due date method pull down menu.
  6. Check required tick boxes:  specification duration and perusal; duration rules; exam; active.
  7. Select the save button save icon

Updating assessment types

  1. Select the edit icon edit icon for the assessment type you wish to update.
  2. Make required changes ie update title, deselect checkboxes.
  3. Select the save button save icon

Deleting assessment types

  1. Select the delete icon delete icon
  2. If no assessment items are currently mapped to the assessment type - the delete action will be processed.

NB: if you wish to delete an assessment type that has been mapped to assessment items you will need to remove these mappings to successfully remove the assessment type.

Contributor types

When configuring these items please ensure that the type you wish to add does not already exist. These types are used by Course Convenors to complete section 1.3 Course staff of the profile.

Adding contributor types

  1. Click the select button select icon
  2. Select the add icon edit icon
  3. Enter the contributor type code.
  4. Enter the title details.
  5. Check the tick box for must be a staff member.
  6. Enter the sequence number.
  7. Check the tick box:  copy when seeding.
  8. Select the save button save icon
  9. Updating contributor types.
  10. Select the edit icon edit icon
  11. Update the contributor title.
  12. Select the save button save icon

Deleting a contributor type

  1. Select the delete icon delete icon
  2. Delete action will be processed.

Learning activity types

Course Convenors are required to provide a summary of learning activities for students to participate in to achieve the learning outcome of the course. Activities not only undertaken in the class room can be included in this list.

Adding learning activity types

  1. Click the select button select icon
  2. Select the add icon edit icon
  3. Enter the learning activity type code.
  4. Enter the title.
  5. Check the status tick box.
  6. Select the save button save icon

Updating learning activity types

  1. Select the edit icon edit icon
  2. Update the title details as required.
  3. Select the add icon edit icon

Deleting learning activity types

  1. Select the delete icon delete icon
  2. Delete action will be processed.

Exam perusal and duration times

When adding exam related activity types to their profiles, course designers will be asked to provide examination perusal and duration times for these items.  Perusal times for examinations are normally determined by the Course Convenor.

Updating exam perusal times

  1. Click the select button select icon
  2. Select the edit icon edit icon
  3. Enter perusal time (in minutes).
  4. Enter credit points from.
  5. Enter credit points to.
  6. Check the approval required tick box if required.
  7. Select the save button save icon

Deleting exam perusal times

  1. Select the edit icon edit icon of the assessment type.
  2. Select the delete icon delete icon
  3. Select the save button save icon

Updating exam duration times

  1. Click the select button select icon
  2. Select the edit icon edit icon
  3. Enter the duration time (in minutes).
  4. Enter the credit points from.
  5. Enter the credit points to.
  6. Check the approval required tick box if required.
  7. Select the save button save icon

Deleting exam duration times

  1. Select the edit icon edit iconof the assessment type
  2. Select the delete icon delete icon
  3. Select the save button save icon

Adding exam formats

  1. Click the select button
  2. Select the add icon edit icon
  3. Enter the title details
  4. Enter the description
  5. Select the active check box
  6. Select the save button save icon

Updating exam formats

  1. Select the edit icon edit icon
  2. Update the required details.
  3. Deselect the active check box if required.
  4. Select the save button save icon

Deleting exam formats

  1. Select the delete icon delete icon
  2. Select the save button save icon
