The University recognises the importance of students' adherence to assessment deadlines as part of their University experience. On time assessment submission is integral to students' academic development and more broadly assists in the development of key graduate skills, such as time management and work load prioritisation, for further employment. For further details on Penalties for Late Submission, please refer to Assessment Procedure for Staff (Section 3.8) and Assessment Procedure for Student (Section 3.5.2) documents.
This section contains guidelines on how late submission is to be dealt with in the course. In accordance with University policy, the following statement is to be included:
An assessment item submitted after the due date, without an approved extension, will be penalised. The standard penalty is the reduction of the mark allocated to the assessment item by 5% of the total weighted mark for the assessment item, for each calendar day that the item is late. Assessment items submitted more than seven calendar days after the due date will be awarded zero marks .
