Learning@Griffith Help in Canvas

We have a brand-new help website for the new LMS Canvas, with access to further support from 24/7 call and chat lines.

Overview

Tests are used in Learning@Griffith to deliver online exams and quiz-style assessment items to students.

What do you need help with?

We have separated our self-help material on tests into three sub-pages for your convenience.

Importing, creating and editing tests

The Importing, Creating and Editing Tests page provides information on:

  • How to import a test from a different or previous Learning@Griffith course site into your current course site
  • Creating a test using question pools
  • Creating a test without using question pools, including:
    • How to create a blank test canvas
    • How to create and add questions
    • How to change the point values of questions
  • Editing an existing test

Deploying and configuring tests

The Deploying and Configuring Tests page provides information on:

  • How to create a link to a test in your Learning@Griffith course site (test deployment)
  • Correct configuration of test settings that:
    • Ensure your test becomes available to students at the correct time
    • Minimise the risk of students encountering issues during the test sitting
  • How to set up test availability exceptions for students who may need extra time in a test or a larger window of time to access a test

Managing and marking test attempts

The Managing and Marking Test Attempts page provides information on:

  • How to clear test attempts and allow re-attempts
  • How to manage test attempts that are showing as 'In Progress'
  • Automatic marking of test questions
  • Manual marking of tests by question or by attempt
  • How to access the Test Access Log to view student activity within a test

Other test-related information

Some information related to tests is not covered in the above pages, such as:

  • Designing test questions that align with the requirements of your course
    • Visit the L&T Support Resources Exams and Tests page for further information
  • Academic Integrity Declarations for online exams
  • Using a test as an electronic assignment cover sheet
  • Surveys
    • Creation, deployment and configuration of a survey is very similar to that of a test. However, the way responses are recorded in Mark Centre is slightly different. Visit Blackboard's Test and Survey Results support page for further information on how to download survey responses.
